What to Expect
At each monthly meeting we do the following:
12:00 -12:15 (7:00-7:15) - Each month, we will all read the same short story. During the first 15 minutes, one group member (previously selected) will lead a discussion on one aspect of the craft of writing using the short story as a spring board. We will also introduce any new members at this time.
12:15-12:30 (7:15-7:30)-A previously selected member will direct us in a group writing exercise and discussion as a warm-up to get our creative juices flowing.
12:30-1:55 (7:30-8:55)-Having read one another's work during the previous month (on our own), we will spend a few minutes discussing each individual's work. If there is time, we will also have the opportunity to read aloud from our work.
1:55-2:00 (8:55-9:00)- We will pick a short story to read for that month as well as pick group members to lead discussions and exercises for the following month.

What to Bring
Ideally, everyone will post their work on this blog where we can all make comments. However, if that is not possible, bring several copies of your writing to share with the group. We suggest bringing only a chapter or portion of your writing, so that all may have a chance to share and receive feedback. Also, you will need to bring writing utensils such as a pen or pencil, paper or notebook or a laptop.

What to Do
Every month, it will be each individual's duty to spend time reading a specifically chosen short story, reading and critiquing the writing of the other members, as well as spending time (preferably daily) working on one's own masterpiece. Also, each group member will have the opportunity to lead discussions relating to the craft of writing or leading creative writing discussions.

Who we are
We are a collection of diverse writers, editors, thinkers and just plain reading-junkies who live in the Uintah Basin area and who have collectively gathered to more profoundly and carefully study the art and craft of writing, with the stated purpose of finding more precise methods of communicating our creative visions.
